luke’s world

Luke was my neighbor from when he was age 6. We had a very strong connection and he loved my photography a lot. He even took part in it quite regularly.
One day, he must have been around 8 years old, he gave me a present: A photograph of a toy set up in his room, which he had constructed for the camera and essentially for me as a present. He had finally mastered his own camera and felt on even grounds with me. So I decided to team up with him.

He built a huge set out of toys and rocks and mud and spent a long time introducing me to all the things that were happening in his mind. Then we both took our cameras and documented his magical playground. We even swapped cameras in between. And when we got the prints back, we mixed them all up and started constructing a map of his world. Teamwork never felt so fair again.
